This paper presents a multi-mode asymmetric power amplifier (MMA-PA) with back-off efficiency enhanced. The is improved without lossy impedance inverter or signal separator which used in conventional Doherty outphasing amplifiers. design considerations are provided detail. In addition, the proposed MMA-PA operates three different modes according to input level. PA fabricated 65-nm bulk CMOS technology. high-power (HP) mode, exhibits small-signal gain of 18.4 dB at 30 GHz and 3-dB bandwidth 4.5 from 27.7 32.2 GHz. output saturation ( $\text{P}_{\text {sat}}$ ) 1-dB compression 16.7 15.1 dBm, respectively. While peak power-added (PAE) 24.7 %, 6-dB PAE keeps high value 14.1 %. medium-power (MP) 12.3 dBm 21 respectively similar 18.9 dB. low-power (LP) gain, 11.5 dB, 7.5 16.5 With 100-MHz 64-QAM OFDM following 3GPP 5G NR standard, average HP mode 6 EVM −26 ACLR < −34 dBc.
